Now showing in the Lamont Gallery:
"Portraits from the Permanent Collection"
One of the featured artists: Francis Cranmer Greenman.
Francis was born in Aberdeen in 1890 and painted more than 1,000 portraits in her career. She studied art in Washington DC, New York City, and Paris, France. She traveled in the art world of Europe in the early 20th century. She then made her way back to the U.S. to settle in Minneapolis but never stopped traveling or moving about the country following wherever her art took her.
The DPM has three Greenman portraits, "My Mother - Emma A. Cranmer", "Jack Black, Ranchman", and "Young Girl in White".
